The Beach

Home to the World’s Largest Freshwater Beach and one of Ontario’s most unique coastal dune ecosystems. From Allenwood Beach to Beach Area 6, more than 14km of white sandy coastline welcomes millions of visitors from around the world every year. The entirety of the beach is managed by the Ontario Parks. With boardwalks, trails, water sport rentals, restaurants, and shopping nearby, there are endless ways to keep  the whole family entertained.

Monument Hill

Monument Hill Trail within Wasaga Beach Provincial Park promises an engaging journey through diverse landscapes. As you ascend the trail, your efforts are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic vista from the hill’s summit. Gaze to the northwest, and you’ll be captivated by the sprawling park below, extending all the way to the bay with the majestic escarpment in the distance. Monument Hill itself is a remarkable natural wonder, a parabolic dune formed entirely of pristine sand, adding to the allure of this scenic lookout.


Paddling the Nottawasaga

Oxbow Dunes

Discover the Oxbow Dunes, a vast expanse of parabolic dunes nestled at a Nottawasaga River bend. These unique landforms offer a rare and unparalleled view, making them the largest of their kind in Ontario. They also serve as a habitat for the at-risk Bank Swallow, which you can spot during nesting season.

Access the dunes via the Ganaraska Trail, Schoonertown Trail, or a quick 30-second walk from the Woodland Drive trailhead. A gentle reminder: Please avoid walking on the dunes’ sides as they are delicate formations, deserving preservation for future generations to enjoy.

Winter in Wasaga

While most people envision Wasaga Beach as a bustling summer town, it’s a surprisingly an incredible winter destination too. This park transforms into a winter wonderland with over 30 kilometers of pristine trails, offering a plethora of activities, encounters with wildlife, and captivating views of the frozen shoreline. Wasaga Beach Nordic Centre
